Aqida Tahawiyya – 11

He creates without being in need to do so, and provides for His creation without any trouble (bilaa mu’unah).

The daleel for this is:

And I did not create the jinn and mankind except to worship Me. I do not want from them any provision, nor do I want them to feed Me. Indeed, it is Allah who is the [continual] Provider, the firm possessor of strength. [Adh-Dhariyat 51:56-58]

and:

O mankind, you are those in need of Allah, while Allah is the Free of need, the Praiseworthy. [Fatir 35:15]

and:

and Allah is the Free of need, while you are the needy. [Muhammad 47:38]

and:

Say, “Is it other than Allah I should take as a protector, Creator of the heavens and the earth, while it is He who feeds and is not fed?” [Al-An’am 6:14]

When the human being makes something such as a car or builds something such as a house he does it so that he can get some benefit from it and alleviate a need he has. Same with having children. Humans have children so that the child can benefit them in the future. But, when Allah creates something he does it without being in need of it. The existence of the created being benefits Allah not a thing. So Allah creates bilaa Haajah.

Allah is also Ar-Raaziq and provides for all the creation from the tiniest ant to the human being the Mu’min and the Kaafir, without it causing him any difficulty or trouble or any decrease in Allah’s Kingdom as we see in the Hadith Qudsi:

O My servants, were the first of you and the last of you, the human of you and the jinn of you to be as pious as the most pious heart of any one man of you, that would not increase My kingdom in anything. O My servants, were the first of you and the last of you, the human of you and the jinn of you to be as wicked as the most wicked heart of any one man of you, that would not decrease My kingdom in anything. O My servants, were the first of you and the last of you, the human of you and the jinn of you to rise up in one place and make a request of Me, and were I to give everyone what he requested, that would not decrease what I have, any more than a needle decreases the sea if put into it. [Reported by Muslim and others]

The words of the author ‘mu’unah’ means without any difficulty(thiqal) or burden(kulfah).
